Park model = more space, lower price per sq ft
Tumbleweed’s flagship Cypress 24 is roughly 192 sq ft of interior space at ~$70K+ (~$365/sq ft). Our Hayden is 399 sq ft at $42,899 (~$107/sq ft). Different products with different trade-offs.
Tumbleweed Tiny House Company is the original tiny-home-on-wheels (THOW) builder. Tiny Homes USA primarily builds park-model RVs and manufactured tiny homes. Here’s how to pick between THOW and park-model for your situation.
Tumbleweed Tiny House Co. specializes in tiny homes on wheels (THOWs) — RVIA-certified mobile dwellings built on a trailer chassis, typically 100–400 sq ft, designed to be towed and moved. Tiny Homes USA builds park model RVs (ANSI A119.5) and manufactured tiny homes — delivered, set, and typically not relocated after install. Tumbleweed costs more per sq ft because every THOW is custom-built; our park models cost less and give you more livable space (399–765 sq ft), but they don’t move once placed.

Tumbleweed wins if you genuinely plan to tow your home (festival circuit, work-relocation life, etc.). We win if you plan to set the home and live in it — you get nearly double the floor area for the same money.
Custom THOWs typically take 6–12 months. Our park models ship in 10–14 weeks because they’re production builds, not bespoke.
Many lenders won’t finance custom THOWs because they’re asset-illiquid and uniquely configured. We work with lenders comfortable with park-model RVs (which have RVIA-equivalent ANSI certification and clearer collateral value).
Not every buyer is right for us. Here are the real situations where Tumbleweed Tiny House Co. is the better fit and where we are.
You genuinely intend to tow your tiny home and move it often
Our take: Tumbleweed. Their THOWs are engineered for road life. Our park models are technically road-legal but designed for single-haul delivery and set placement.
You want maximum livable space for the price
Our take: Tiny Homes USA. Our 399 sq ft Hayden costs less than Tumbleweed’s 192 sq ft Cypress.
You want to live full-time on rural land you own
Our take: Tiny Homes USA — particularly our HUD-code manufactured tiny homes that qualify as permanent dwellings.
You want maximum off-grid customization in a true tiny footprint
Our take: Tumbleweed. Off-grid is native to their build philosophy. We offer off-grid packages but they’re add-ons.
You’re in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, or surrounding states
Our take: Tiny Homes USA. Free 1,000-mile delivery covers you. Tumbleweed delivery is quoted per-mile from Colorado.
Neither is better — they’re different products for different lifestyles. A THOW is a movable RV-classed dwelling; a park model is a transport-delivered single-installation RV-classed dwelling. THOWs cost more per sq ft because each is custom-built; park models cost less because they’re production builds. Pick the product that matches how you’ll actually use it.
No, not realistically. Our park models are wider (typically 11’6″ with a 14-ft transport variance permit) and heavier than legal towing for civilian vehicles. They’re designed for single-haul delivery by professional transport with oversize-load permits. THOWs (Tumbleweed’s product) are sized for civilian towing — that’s the whole point of a THOW.
Three reasons: (1) custom builds vs production. Each Tumbleweed is built to the customer’s order from a base plan. (2) Smaller production volume. (3) The trailer chassis adds cost vs our chassis-less park-model platform. Custom THOWs in this segment are typically $300–$500/sq ft; production park models are typically $100–$200/sq ft.
Sometimes. Many tiny-home lenders cover both formats, but some won’t finance custom THOWs because they’re asset-illiquid (each one is unique, hard to remarket). Park models are easier to finance because they’re production builds with established resale comparables.
Tumbleweed custom THOWs typically take 6–12 months. Tiny Homes USA park models and manufactured tiny homes typically take 10–14 weeks.
